Forestry & Community Officer
Elisa Asiimwe has worked with the Uganda Conservation Foundation since 2019 and is an experienced, hands-on conservationist specialising in forestry, landscape restoration and community development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Forestry and Product Technology from Makerere University.
Elisa has played a leading role in UCF programmes that have propagated, planted and managed more than one million indigenous trees across communities north of Murchison Falls National Park. This work has included training hundreds of community members and young people in tree planting, maintenance and sustainable land management, including through Pacer Community Polytechnic.
Alongside UCF’s forestry programme, Elisa manages and supports more than a dozen community development groups around northern Murchison Falls and leads a permanent field team. More recently, his work has expanded into the Karamoja landscape, supporting restoration initiatives with Morungole Community Conservancy, including the establishment and management of more than 2,000 indigenous trees.
